Total Time: 15 minutes
Servings: 12 Skewers

Equipment

  • HOPELF 6" Natural Bamboo Skewers

Ingredients

  • 1 pint grape tomatoes
  • 1 package pearl mozzarella balls
  • 12 fresh basil leaves
  • 6-8 romaine lettuce leaves
  • Balsamic glaze optional
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Toothpicks or small skewers

Instructions

  • Begin by washing the grape tomatoes and basil leaves thoroughly. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
  • Take a toothpick or small skewer and thread one grape tomato, followed by two pearl mozzarella balls, and one grape tomato, then one basil leaf.
  • Repeat this process until all of your ingredients are used up.
  • Lay romaine lettuce leaves evenly across a serving platter to create a bed.
  • Arrange the mozzarella skewers on top of the lettuce, spacing them out evenly, season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Consider arranging them in a neat row or creating a decorative pattern.
  • If desired, drizzle some balsamic glaze over the skewers for an extra burst of flavor.
  • Once arranged, your mozzarella skewers on a bed of romaine lettuce are ready to be served and enjoyed!

Notes

For 12 skewers, you'll likely need around 6 to 8 romaine lettuce leaves, depending on their size and how generously you want to cover the platter. Adjust the quantity as needed to ensure that each skewer has enough space on the bed of lettuce and that the presentation looks balanced and appealing.

Tips and Tricks:
  • For added flavor, marinate the pearl mozzarella balls in olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and Italian seasoning for a few hours before assembling the skewers.
  • Get creative with your presentation by arranging the skewers in a circular pattern on a round platter or laying them out in a zigzag pattern for a more modern look.
  • These skewers are perfect for a variety of occasions, including cocktail parties, holiday gatherings, or even a simple picnic in the park. They're versatile, easy to make, and always a crowd-pleaser!
